Warlock Leveling

Now when it comes to the warlock leveling build you need to be running, it’s a good idea to go with a heavy affliction build. Give that, here is the talent distribution you’re going to want to start off with:
5/5 Imp Corruption
2/2 Improved Drain Soul
2/2 Soul Siphon
1/2 Improved Life Tap
5/5 Fel Concentration
2/2 Grim Reach
2/2 Nightfall
2/2 Improved Life Tap
1/1 Siphon Life
1/1 Amplify Curse
3/3 Empowered Corruption
5/5 Shadow Mastery
1/1 Dark Pact
5/5 Contagion
2/2 Improved Howl of Terror
1/5 Shadow Embrace
1/1 Curse of Exhaustion
1/1 Unstable Affliction
Once you’ve got that all down, you’ll likely be at about level 52. From here on in it doesn’t matter all that much where you put your points. You may decide on going with Bane or perhaps Improved Curse of Agony or even Suppression. When it comes to what kind of equipment you should be wearing, keep a lookout for anything that gives you a bonus to stamina as well as to shadow damage.
Now that that’s straightened out, here’s a look into what kind of attack rotation is best for leveling fast:
1. Attack the enemy with your Voidwalker
2. Cast Curse of Agony
3. Cast Corruption
4. Cast Siphon Life
5. Case Drain Life
6. When you get Nightfall, cast Shadowbolt
7. Put your DOTS back up when they fade and use Lifetap when needed
That’s about it, other than that, when you gain access to the Felguard, be sure to use him over your Voidwalker, he holds agro well and his enhanced damage will come in handy.
Now you’d think that with all this info you’d be able to breeze through leveling as a warlock, that’s certainly what I thought, but come level 15-20, I was leveling soooo damn slow!
I was so upset about it, I went and asked a fellow guild mate who was an avid power leveler where I went wrong. After hearing about this warlock leveling guide and looking into it, I thought that it would wind up being a PDF file, but in fact it was an in-game add-on. What it does is place a giant green arrow in front of your character which points you to what quest you need to pickup, what monsters you need to fight, and when and where you need to turn quests in. By following it, you level up at the optimal speed without even thinking.
In addition to the arrow, you also get a dialogue box which has written text describing the quest sequence for you, so you may see:
Kill 8 Spore Harvesters in the Borean Tundra for “Vermin Extermination” at (22,33)
Obtain 10 Tempest Motes from Enraged Tempests for “Motes of the Enraged” at (42,24)
Turn in the “Vermin Extermination” Quest to Scout Tungok
Now as good as all this was, it was not perfect, here were some of the problems I had with it:
CONS:
- When I first started using this as a warlock leveling guide, they had a nice HTML version of the guide as well which was helpful outside of the game, they’ve since taken this down though.
- They need more videos showing how to do the hardest quests in this game, they also need to give more class leveling information.
PROS:
- You get a Map Mod here which shows you on your mini-map in a visual format what quests you need to complete and where, this works well combined with the written dialogue box.
- You also have the green arrow on screen in front of you which makes leveling a lot simpler and less.. “brain intensive”.
- You won’t get in trouble for using this because it’s not a hack or a cheat.
- You gain access to a members only forum as well as lifetime updates to the software.
- You get a money back guarantee which lasts 60 days.
